CHICAGO - Jose Reyes was scheduled to leave for Florida on Wednesday. Its time for his minor league rehab assignment, the next and final step toward the shortstops return from a sprained left ankle and Blue Jays manager John Gibbons cant wait to see him go. "How long it will take I dont know," said Gibbons. "I would say a couple of weeks I think hes got to play but that could change, too." Not even Reyes can predict the exact date of his return. "I didnt play for two months so when you dont play for that long, youre going to lose some stuff," he said. "But at least Ive been hitting (batting practice) the last two weeks, working on my swing but the big thing is going to be facing live pitching. Thats when Im going to know where my swings at but other than that, everything feels good. "Maybe five, six, two, who knows, it depends on how Im feeling," Reyes continued when asked how many rehab games he would need. "If it feels like my swing is there where I need to be, I dont want to take too long because I need to be here and not down there." Reyes has accomplished as much as he can with trainer George Poulis and strength coach Bryan King. As days have gone by, his pre-game routine has intensified. What began with light jogging, hitting off a tee and ground balls hit directly to Reyes morphed into sprinting and running the bases, full batting practice and grounders which required side-to-side movement. All tests, to this point, have been passed. Its time to play. "Good, good speed right there," said Reyes. "I still have a little bit more left when I start to play the games. But I feel good, the way I performed when running the bases. Hitting is good and the last time, ground balls, I thought it was going to be an issue but it wasnt an issue at all because I was moving side-to-side, go back on pop-ups and stuff like that." Starter Brandon Morrow, who was placed on the disabled list June 1 with right forearm soreness, will be on the same flight to Florida as Reyes. Morrow threw a bullpen session on Tuesday, felt good, and is ready to enter the next stage of his rehabilitation. Morrow will make two or three rehab starts. Running out of time to make a run Since a May 11 win in Boston, the Blue Jays have been no better than seven games below .500, no worse than 10 below the break-even mark. Manager John Gibbons knows the club is running out of time to get back in the race. "You look back, we were in position to win that game against Texas, that would have been big, and then it was back and forth (Monday) night," said Gibbons. "Those would have been a couple of big wins for us because until you get to .500, I dont want to say pissing in the wind but basically thats what youre doing." The Blues were leading though Bertrand Traores strike and five minutes from picking up a fourth straight win to maintain their late surge towards the Champions League spots. However Mame Biram Dioufs equaliser earned Stoke a draw, and left Hiddink admitting fourth place looks beyond them now. Report: Chelsea 1-1 Stoke Mame Biram Dioufs 85th minute header earned Stoke a deserved 1-1 draw at Chelsea Thats difficult, almost impossible, he said. Especially when other teams are knocking on the door as well.Yet in December we were near the relegation zone, so get to the middle of the table and now have a beautiful March and April to look forward to with the Champions League and the FA Cup would be nice.Hiddink also insisted referee Mark Clattenburg missed a clear penalty for his side in the second half.Marc Muniesa went unpunished after his challenge from behind knocked Oscar down in the area at Stamford Bridge, the incident coming before Dioufs equaliser. Stoke boss Mark Hughes felt his side did enough to take all three points at Stamford Bridge Hiddink, who could not hide his frustration at dropping two points, says Clattenburg clearly got the decision wrong.dddddddddddd.I think we started the first half a little bit sloppy, but after 10 or 15 minutes we got into the game, he told Sky Sports. This is a decent team to play in Stoke. I think rather decisive, although they had some chances, was the not-given penalty on Oscar in the second half. If you see it on the television it is a clear penalty. If it is outside the box all the referees will give it, but inside the referees have fear to do so. I think that was decisive. Then they got some courage out of that, threatened us and got the equaliser. It is of course frustrating, they pushed on in the late part of the game, and it is frustrating of course.Hiddink started Traore up front at Stamford Bridge, and was rewarded as the 20-year-old scored a fourth goal in five games, while resting Diego Costa, Pedro and Cesc Fabregas ahead of the Champions League last-16 second leg against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday. Bertrand Traore celebrates scoring Chelseas first at Stamford Bridge The Dutchman praised Traore for his superb first-half strike, and said the youngsters being blooded through at Chelsea are encouraged to express themselves. They have to step up on the podium which is not easy, because the nerves also play a role, and thats why its good to see this goal, he added. I dont care if they make errors, but I like to see them play brave. Thats not always easy. Its encouraging to see some youngsters.
